LEARN TIE-DYE USING JAPANESE NATURAL INDIGO WHILE EXPLORING THE BEAUTY OF BALI

A fully-guided tour with Shuji and Alison Yamazaki World as your tutor and our Team from Wacky Jacky’s Textiles as your hosts.

Do you love indigo? Do you love tie-dye? Then this is the right retreat for you!

Shuji from Wabi Sabi Designs will be teaching us the shibori method of dyeing your fabrics, like tying and clumping, and Alison will be guiding us on how to wrap and stitching them up.

After 4 intense days of Indigo Dyeing, we move onto the 2nd part of your exciting retreat.

For two (2) days, Alison will be teaching you in creating traditional Japanese Bags using your dyed pieces and finish off with chiku-chiku stitched runner or picture, showing you how to use your scraps in an inventive way.

All PFD (prepared for fabric dyeing) cotton & linen will be supplied and you will stitch, wrap, clump and tie your PFD, to make sure that your beautiful personalities shine through the designs.

Payment plans available. You can stagger the payment for this trip through 3 different stages.

This will be a trip you will never forget, and the limited positions are quickly filling up. Register now before it sells out! 💕

Exclusion

Flying into Bali

- Return flights from your home country to Bali are not included in this retreat.

- Please be aware that the first day of your retreat and the last day of your retreat are travel days. For example, if a retreat starts on 4 May to 16 May, you have to fly in on 4 May, and 16 May is the day you fly out.

- When booking, please aim to land in Bali early afternoon on your first day, and exit Bali in the early evening / late night on the last day.

- If you wish to fly in earlier be sure to book your own accommodation in Sanur – as Wacky Jacky’s does not book for you.

What You Need to Bring

Extra Luggage

- Since shopping is guaranteed, you need lots of space in the luggage! 😜

- For the same reason, I also suggest you to get extra baggage for your flight back home, as airlines can be strict with their luggage regulation.

- However, if it still exceeds, we can help arrange shipping at your own cost.

Patterns and Samples

- Bring your favourite patterns for quilting/any textile projects so you can preplan your fabric shopping.

- Since we also offer tailoring services, you can also bring your favourite dress/tops/bottoms as samples for our tailors.

Cash and Cards

- You will need spending money for lunch, dinners, drinks, souvenirs, optional tours and shopping days etc.

- Though not all, most places accept cards in Bali (like in my shop and cafe). I suggest bringing a little bit of cash and converting it in Candidasa, or you can lend some from me to be paid back later. Plenty of money changers in Candidasa.

- Avoid converting it in the airport as it may delay the group's collective arrival.

Suggested Attires

- Loose, cooling clothes as Bali can get both hot and humid.

- Bathers for swimming and beach days.

- Flip-flops and good walking shoes for our adventure.

- Last but not least, your sunscreen. I suggest the non-stick one so you can wear it all over your face and body.

Sense of Humour

- Sense of humour and easygoing approach to the Balinese people as they are one of the friendliest people on earth and really like to talk to guests.
