YOUR ULTIMATE 2025 BORNEO RETREAT WITH LIKE MINDED LADIES
Day by Day Itinerary
- Day 1 – Fly into Bali (flight at your own cost) – welcome dinner and accommodation in Sanur
- Day 2 – Shopping in Denpasar and then fly out to Surabaya (which is where we fly to Kalimantan from). As we have an early start on Day 3 we need to fly out to Surabaya late on Day 2
- Day 3 – 7 - Our Kalimantan Orangutan Expedition.
- Day 7 - We fly to Surabaya for a 2 night stay in a Famous Heritage hotel and enjoy a high tea in the afternoon
- Day 8 – Surabaya – shopping / exploring. Jacky will take you to a great shop.
- Day 9 – Head off by Bus down the coast of Java to Banyuwangi, where we stay on the coast overlooking Bali for 2 nights.
- Day 10 - Mount Ijen Midnight Blue Fire Guided Tour – if you are a hiking enthusiast and would like to go on this – let us know and we can organize this at your own cost. Approximately $100.
Otherwise spend the day around the pool, exploring the local area, spend time in the spa, or just relax. - Day 11 – Ferry back to Bali and drive the scenic road to Candidasa where we spend 3 nights recovering from your big trip.
- Day 12 – 13 - exploring Candidasa, relaxing in the hotel on the beachfront, get a massage or come to Wacky Jacky’s Quilt shop and stock up on your stash of fabric.
- Day 14 – fly home to Bali

Inclusion
Payment Terms
- Initial installment: AU$1,000, deposit required to secure your position on the retreat.
- Second installment: AU$3,000 will be due 6 months prior to your retreat.
- Final installment: The balance will be due 3 months prior to your retreat.

Transportation
- Transfers from Airport on Arrival: (not included) Please organise your own transfer from Bali International Airport to the The Parigata Hotel, Sanur – at your own cost (there are taxi counters directly outside the customs hall in airport – it is very easy to navigate a taxi from there).
- Transfer from Candidasa Hotel to the Airport on the last day: We will organise those transfers for you and are included in the retreat.
- Flights – Bali to Surabaya/Kalimantan/Surabaya return including in your retreat price.
Accommodation and Dining
- All Meals whilst in Borneo included
- All meals in Bali (including Welcome Dinner) are not included
- 13 nights accommodation with Daily breakfasts, 4 Lunches, 5 Dinners.
- If you arrive before the retreat dates, I advise you to reserve a room in the same hotel as our retreat: The Parigata Hotel, Jl. Danau Tamblingan No. 87, Sanur. You may also book one near the hotel.
- Transfers from the Airport on Arrival: Please organise your own transfer from Bali International Airport to Parigata Hotel, Sanur – at your own cost (there are taxi counters directly outside the customs hall in the airport – it is very easy to navigate a taxi from the there).

- Access to Wacky Jacky’s Bali fabric shop at special VIP discounted rates.
Your Free Days
- Optional days out available, normally consist of batik painting, Balinese cooking Class, Indigo Batik Day.
- Plenty of good quality local restaurants, shops to browse through.
Massages / shopping / snorkelling / relaxing.

Flights to Bali
- This retreat does not include return flights from your home country to Bali.
- Please be aware that the first day of your retreat and the last day of your retreat are travel days. For example, if a retreat starts on 4 May to 16 May, you have to fly in on 4 May, and 16 May is the day you fly out.
- When booking, please aim to land in Bali in the early afternoon on your first day and exit Bali in the early evening / late night on the last day or thereafter if you choose to stay somewhere else for longer.

Exclusion
Flying into Bali
- Return flights from your home country to Bali are not included in this retreat.
- Please be aware that the first day of your retreat and the last day of your retreat are travel days. For example, if a retreat starts on 4 May to 16 May, you have to fly in on 4 May, and 16 May is the day you fly out.
- When booking, please aim to land in Bali early afternoon on your first day, and exit Bali in the early evening / late night on the last day.
- If you wish to fly in earlier be sure to book your own accommodation in Sanur – as Wacky Jacky’s does not book for you.
What You Need to Bring
Extra Luggage
Important tip about Borneo – travel light with a hand luggage size luggage – as we will be getting on and off the Klotok Boat – and need to be mindful of space.
Bring extra large luggage to Bali, and we will organise for it to be transported to Candidasa, where we can be reunited with it upon our return to Bali.
We can also send any extra shopping in Bali back to Candidasa with our larger luggage.
Since shopping is guaranteed in Bali and Surabaya, you may want to consider booking extra luggage for your return to Australia flight.
However, if it still exceeds the cost, we can help arrange shipping at your own cost.
Patterns and Samples
- Bring your favourite patterns for quilting/any textile projects so you can preplan your fabric shopping.
- Since we also offer tailoring services, you can also bring your favourite dress/tops/bottoms as samples for our tailors.
Cash and Cards
You will need to spend money on lunch, dinners, drinks, souvenirs, optional tours, shopping days, etc.
Though not all, most places accept cards in Indonesia (like in my shop and cafe). Bring some cash (maybe AUD 500) and convert it to Bali International Airport before catching a taxi to Sanur Hotel. If you get stuck, Jacky can lend you some to be paid back later. Plenty of money changers in major cities and Candidasa.
Suggested Attires
- I suggest lightweight long-sleeved shirts and long pants for a trip into the national forest (5 days). Maybe one pair of pants and several shirts (remember, we can rinse out overnight)
- Must bring mosquito spray & Sunscreen
- Hat
- Personal Neck Fan (rechargeable) – not necessary, but it could be a nice idea
- Good Walking Shoes
- Bathers for swimming
- Flip-flops
- A more extensive list will be sent to you in your itinerary – but the above is a must

- Sense of humour and easygoing approach to the Indonesian people as they are one of the friendliest people on earth and like to talk to guests.

We are now located in Bali – the final charges during checkout will be in IDR (Indonesian Rupiah), which may look like a lot of numbers (in thousands, 000).
